Mount has 3 scholarships for August. Three are committed. Where does Rggeie fit in? My guesses: either MSM does what the Tarheels regularly do, simply tell James he can still come to the Mount "but he will never play", thereby getting him to de-commit, or Burrell is getting big offers and wants to withdraw. Tell me what you know or think.
I don't know anything more than what that said. Obviously, sometimes scholarships magically appear. It has happened in the past, it could happen again. But I think Burrell, James and Morales are all locked. It is beyond just a commitment. They signed LOI's during the early signing period. I expect to see all three at the Mount in the fall - and hope they will have prosperous careers.
It's beginning to look like Burrell is a steal for The Mount. It will be interesting to see how the competition goes between him and Trice next year. Everyting I read about Morales looks good too. Admittedly, I'm really confused by the James signing - he did very little last year and he is doing very little this year.
Not for a lack of trying but The Mount really needs to do a better job of recruiting a true shooter. I'm convinced that their struggles in the half court set this year have a lot to do with the fact that they don't have anyone who is a consistent threat to hit the open shot, let alone a three. Maybe Krajina will develop next year.
Sorry I didn't get to Section 6 on Thursday. Running a bit late before tipout. And by halftime, I wasn't quite in the mood - afraid I'd say something I shouldn't. Perhaps today will be different. Who should I ask for?

ReplyDeleteI knew Burrell and Morales were NLI signed but I did not know James was also signed. Is there an authoritative reference on signings?
ReplyDeleteI'm as authoritative as you need.
ReplyDeleteBut if you want a link...

I hope the Mount doesn't get this Reggie Williams kid. His 'highlight' reel was anything but.
