  5. Dreams of the future - how is this line for ONE GAME?

    44 points, 31 rebounds

Contest: figure out the player (not the entire team)!

  7. Good to get a win last Saturday. Could prove to be an important game to sneaking in the playoffs this year.

Raff, your such a good writer. Which is why only one written article in the last month during the height of the basketball season is killing us man!!!!

Much to be written with playoffs as subject. Often 7 or 8 wins enough. Need to get a few against favored opponents @ our place and steal 2 more on the road.

  11. I suppose Raff is not interested in providing his wisdom anymore. I wish he would at least just explain, so that we can all find other sources to focus on.

  12. I heard that Burke was putting in more of an effort recently. Is that true? You guys are delusional to be thinking about playoff for the Mount this year- aint gonna happen, sorry. I heard Chazz Patterson has been doing well this year. If we truly get Crockett, Patterson, and Graves next year-along with our pre-ordained saviors Whack and Prescott....then that is a highly talented group. I will not get my hopes up though because Burke cannot really keep anyone yet. I doubt we see Danaher for more than 5 minutes per game his whole career lol. I surely hope Greg Graves didnt get those stats against Danaher's old team in the home school league, lol.

Richard, I hope you didn't see the game today. We have no talent, period.

  14. Kelly, and everyone else.....Never in my life have I seen the Mount in such a woeful state as they are in now. I have seen where they had a horrible season under Brown in the early 2000s, but fortunately I lived away from Emmitsburg area then too. I am glad I moved way down here and cant see them this year as well except for online. Yes I seen it Kelly. It was free or I wouldnt have watched it lol. Since I havent seen them in person I cant really have much good insight this year. So, any of you that has been able to observe them, what really is the true deal? Is it Smirky Burke or are the players really that terrible? I need more insight please. This really is a damn shame I tell ya.

  15. Furthermore, I have lost my interest in most sports more and more the past few years. I am basically at my ending point now. I lost interest because most bigtime sports is virtually fake in some ways. It seems that most pro sports are scripted and the players are being paid more for the adherence to the script than just their athleticism. Now, the athleticism is legitimate, but i doubt i will ever be able to agree that the results are. I have just seen way to many games that have seemed to be acted out to believe it anymore at all. As far as college basketball goes, many players are bought to go to the school anyway, I have some insight that I wont reveal any further- more so from the bigtime schools though. I basically have grown to hate football with how it appears like it is all a big story acted out. Both of those games was a crock of sheet, it seeemed that both teams in each game knew exactly what the result was going to be, after I during my viewing analyzed many aspects of it. Baseball I cant stand because of how the richer the teams are they have such an advantage. Pro basketball is a downright joke in many ways, and now... I am at my wits end with college basketball, especially when I think of things like the acquisition of Mr. Michigan basketball by Wagner and how Wagner basically goes from worst to first that fast with Hurley as coach. Thats just one small example. The fakeness runs just as rampant in sports as it does in regular society. Just because someone is great at what they do and lives a very moral and honest life has no bearing on their success, it is all about intangibles these days. A person could be clueless and perform horrible while being a corrupt person and be at the top much faster. Nothing is based on what it should be these days. Too many of nearly everything is mis-evaluated these days. I could go on and on but I am too tired from doing too much college work today. So y'all have fun. This country is one evil money, material, fake azzz place I tell ya. Too many do not merit what they have and the same person who was valued highly 20 years ago is thrown to the trash heap in favor of a bunch of jokers and fakes. What was once viewed as sinful is now viewed as to be the 'cool', 'in' 'trendy' way to be. The harder you truly work the less you will have in comparison to the ones taking a ride through life. I could go on for a mile about the regression of this country but I will save it for yalls and my sake. Bye.

  16. Richard, I have seen several games this year. The gaurds are missing the senior leadership Trice was susposed to give this year. You have 2 sophs and a 2 freshmen rotating/starting running the floor. The post guys have had only this season to get used the gaurds. It is missing team chemistry, but is is coming as seen in one of it's best game this year against Maryland. Btw, have you seen Danaher play? I saw him against Montrose Christian last year. He neutralized their bigmen, both top D1 prospects. Burke has bigmen he recruited and coached now in the NBA, I am excited what he can do given some time!

  17. Mike, Well, like I said I will wait and see what happens next year with all that great talent coming to truly evaluate Burke. A few people that I talked to who are close to a few players on the team actually told me that Burke is making more of an effort. This was quite a change since they used to think very negatively of Burke--and that was only a few months ago when they thought so bad about him. I do not understand that Maryland game. I mean if they performed so well against MD you would think that they would have played similar in at least 1 or 2 other games after that. Well, that has not happened. Actually, it seems that other than a few games, that they have regressed instead. I hope you are accurate about Danaher, Mike. However I predict Danaher to have stats around 6-8ppg by his senior year. I hope he is athletic enough to hang with the smaller more athletic type post players the NEC has to offer. I understand this year was going to be difficult. However, you'd think more progress would be made instead of the opposite. For example, the first time we played SFNY and LIU it was a closer game than the 2nd time- should be the other way around. Basically, the only benefit to the rest of this year is to get players some experience. Otherwise we may as well forfeit the rest of the year and put all our marbles on next year. The way it appears now, if we keep all of that great talent, then next year we will have the 2nd most talented group of newcomers. The best group is going to be Wagner probably. I would say Mount had best group if not for that all world guy they got coming, Dwaun Anderson- initially a Michigan St. commitment. Honestly, if Wagner keeps all their talent, I seriously believe that they could near the accomplishments of VCU last year. Wagner is going to have a star-studded roster in the next few years. Actually it is nearly that way now for them. I would be glad for them but I can't due to Hurley. I do not know who I dislike more- the Hurleys, Mike Rice, or whoever else is an RMU coach lol.

  18. I am starting to think that Raff ran away similar to how Tony Little did whenever Brown left and the Mount didn't hire Brion Dunlap, lol.

  19. Good to get a win today, but that loss on Thursday night basically killed our playoff chances for this season(in my opinion.) Even today, we blew a double diget second half lead. What a frustrating team.

    PLAYOFFS? WHAT PLAYOFFS?

  21. Killed our playoff chances? How do you figure? If we're able to take care of St. Francis (pa) and Monmouth (both of which games are at home), then we'll be in pretty good shape to get in.

Big game Thursday. If we can get a win there, I think momentum, a big student section, and a big alumni weekend crowd against hated Robert Morris could be enough to make Saturday's game a real classic.

  22. Yes, it is strange being near the bottom of the NEC, but 'Onions' is correct - we actually are 'about' one game out of 6th place!

  23. Coming down the homestretch of the season with a big 5 out of the next 6 games at home. Gotta get some W's at the Knott. Really wish we had a fresh thread to discuss these upcoming games.
