Search for coaching position

Just got word that the Mount has opened up the head coaching position.

They are gathering names now and will bring candidates to campus this week.

Acting head coach Matt Henry is still under consideration but far from a sure thing.

  1. That's good to hear. Regardless of who they hire, they are doing the right thing.

  2. My guess is Pete Strickland is the front runner. I'd also like to see Kenny Payne interviewed.

  3. Why is Strickland the front runner? I know someone on here mentioned his "success", but what is that exactly?

  4. I agree CarolinaJack. I'd like to see a proven coach that can reel in some good recruits!!!

  5. BigJoeC, amen to that. I'm not a big fan of the mid-low majors rushing off and hiring big time D1 assistants everytime they have an opening. The biggest issue is that those guys are used to having unlimited resources so they basically start off unprepared and hoping for resources they may not get.

    Men all thinking with their.....

You should look more closely at Henry and find out if the recruits and transfer (Prescott) are coming (or staying).

All the Stricklands and anyone else? ONLY if they are immediately bringing at least two big time difference makers.

  8. @Kelly, did i ever say pass on Henry? No!! I said bring in some coaches that can actually reel in decent D1 Recruits!!!! Soon if the losing continues i wouldnt be surprised if MSM dosent return back to D3.....locker rooms need major upgrade!! In order for big time mid-major recruits to come is if things change and change fast!!!

  9. @ Joe (and all else who dare to commit). The locker rooms have been designed and will cost just about $1M.

That means you and I, as well as 48 others, need to pledge $20,000 each to get it done. I am certain the school will accept the money over 4-5 years.

How about we make our money pledges here on this blog first (non binding)?

Do you think the damn alumni care enough? Sometimes I just can't believe we can't raise this kind of money.

OK, you all have been challenged.

  10. I can pledge $10,000 over 4 years. Let's have Raff keep score?
