Been gone way too Long

It's been way too long since I've posted here.

The Mount is landing new players.

The Orioles are just about out of the race.

Greg Paulus is the Quarterback or is he?

Ryan Nassib is the Quarterback or is he?

Evan Longoria is the DH or is he?

Josh Vittek is headed back to Burlington or is he?

We'll try to answer all of those questions and more. Plus give you our regular take on sports as we return to the Blogosphere over the next few days.

We hope we've been missed. At least slightly.

Yes, we missed you!
The Orioles were as I told you, destined to be last. The Mount got a verbal from a good guard, but there are better out there to wish for (Lindsay - true, he's a 2 guard) and I am secretly waiting for another Whitaker. Still no word on the final roster for next year - Schwartz with the academics and I have no final information on Cribbs. Damn Pens mashed the Caps in #7, but what a series!

The Mount FanBlog is hosted by Ryan Raffensperger, a sports fan of all types and a Mount Basketball fan forever.

Raffensperger has loved the Mount as long as he can remember, which basically means 1981 - and remembers the true #GloryDays of Memorial Gym. He remembers the players from those days to the athletes who play at Knott Arena today. And if it's a #MountMayhem day, it's going to be a good day.

He holds a Syracuse University degree in broadcast journalism. He has broadcast high school, college & minor league levels of all sports in his past and regularly covered high school football for his hometown paper. So the blog does make a little sense.

Raffensperger worked professionally as a CPA for many years, but the chronic inflammatory immune disease Sarcoidosis made it impossible to continue that in a manner he found acceptable. Since then, he has spent more time around the Mount St. Mary's basketball program and values Coach Dan Englestad, his staff, and the players' impact on him. The blog was much more active, but the advent of Twitter (follow @themountfanblog) has made writing a little less important. But he hopes that the balance swings back in favor of more traditional content soon.
