2011-12 Men's Basketball Schedule - Mount St. Mary's

2011-12 Men's Basketball Schedule - Mount St. Mary's:

'via Blog this'

Here is the Mount 2011-12 basketball schedule. We missed one game in our pursuit of the schedule. And that was not done to make one fan of the blog unhappy. But the Mount will play in Savannah Georgia, versus Savannah State on December 22. The Mount won a home game with Savannah last year.

That game was part of the MTE Ohio event, so this is a new contract. Not sure if it includes a trip back to Emmitsburg or not.

Just looking at future schedules next year for fun, I think you can expect the Mount to play Hartford, Navy and possibly Savannah at home. Meanwhile they would two new series (replacing Albany and Siena) that could start at the Knott. If Savannah is a one-year deal that series could start at home. Road games next year would be due to Loyola and American.

And then they'd have the four big school dates to replace which generally pay the Mount and are on the road.

Hartford Completes Mount Schedule

The Mount will open Hartford's new arena on November 16th. Hartford opens the Chase Family Arena at the Reich Family Arena this year.

The Hawks a member of the America East conference were 11-20 last season but 8-6 at home. The expectation here is that the Hawks will return the game in 2012.

We have been frantically looking for the tenth game on the Mount non-conference schedule. Hartford completes what will be a challenging schedule. In addition, it was confirmed that the Loyola game will be played on December 10 at Knott Arena.

In addition, the Mount faces Siena, Albany and American at home, the will travel to Marquette, Minnesota, Penn State, Maryland, and Navy.

The dates of all the games are listed in the left hand side column.

Now it's on to practice. That starts in less than a month.

Trenton Combo Guard commits to Mount

Chazz Patterson a 6-4 guard from Trenton Catholic has committed to continue his athletic career at Mt. St. Mary's. He is expected to sign a National Letter of Intent during the November signing period. He would join the Mount in the fall of 2012.

He played this summer with the explosive AAU Team Philly and got glowing reports from numerous sources. He has the ability to get into the lane a little bit and shoot the basketball.

As a junior at Trenton Catholic he had a season high 22 points off the bench in a win over Friends Catholic. He  averaged 4.8 points during that season. Alex Kline of The Recruit Scoop calls Patterson "one of the most under the radar players on the East Coast". Patterson also had offers from Boston University, UMBC and St. Francis (PA).

The commitment adds to the Mount's abundance of perimeter players and I think you can expect them to be looking hard at some interior players with the final two available scholarships.

CCSU Basketball Captain Arrested, Spokesman Says - Courant.com

CCSU Basketball Captain Arrested, Spokesman Says - Courant.com:

Not sure what if any implications this has on Central this season. But it can be said that Horton is one of the better players in the NEC this season and the Devils having him on the court goes a long way toward their title aspirations.
