It is hard not to be excited. We lose Thompson and the potential additions to the roster are many. Two transfers, one redshirt and three recruits. Every one of them may contribute.
It's the spirit and good feeling that adds to the possibilities.
Hey RAFF!!! Could you make a post about who will be the best freshamn for each team next year, and also give some distinctions like best surprise recruit, etc. You know like many recruiting sites do.
My darkhorse recruit..overall...so far will be 6-4 G/F Curtis Oakley who is heading to Bryant. He is the nephewe of NBA great Charles Oakley for the Knicks.
About Dwaun Anderson: True, LB. However if he has anything close to a real good season I predict he will only be at Wagner for a year and then onto the bigtime. i surmise with Hurley gone it is possible he could be using Wagner in a similar fashion that many recruits use 'Prep' schools after high school.
I see that good Milan pulled in a good scorer from DC. Cullen Hamilton from Potomac where he got Burrell. I am a little surprised that Milan has been able to still recruit VA so well being way up in Mass. now. Also, Milan has to get players who have a better academic history up at HC. Not to say that the Mount sucks in academics, but the Patriot is not all that far lower than the Ivy League in academics. I had predicted that was going to be Brown's biggest challenge. However, he has impressed me with his continued ability to recruit. Along with Dunlap of course.
That good ol' Milan, hahaha. He just had the 'nerve' to come to the Mount went Jamion was hired. I wonder if there was anyone at the press party that gave him any sarcasm or 'attitude' for running away like he did?
I would love it if, when Brown was down that day at Mount, that they set up some future games between Mount and Holy Cross? Raff or anyone--how much of a chance do you see it happening that we play Holy Cross while Milan is still there?
From what I understand about Anderson is that he perfers a small school as his high school was and that is why he picked Wagner. Also he has a great relationship with Mason so I really don't see him leaving. The other recruit Wagner landed, Eric Fanning is another big one. Also the two guys LIU got from Texas seem to be pretty highly ranked in that state.
Here are a few facts you might want to consider. Cullen Hamilton was indeed a scorer, but he went to the Potomac School, not the Potomac HS where Burrell graduated. Hamilton's school plays in a low grade private school league, so Milan is taking a big crap shoot because Hamilton is not likely to be as competitive with the better players.
Curtis Oakley was not recruited by any other school but Bryant.
The LIU recruits are indeed from Texas, but their schools are not competitive with Crockett's Ft. Bend Travis HS.
Harry!!!! Thank you for your insight!! On LIU recruits- taurean Waller-Prince seems to have potential, but I do not have as good of a vibe about the other one. As for your comment about Oakley. Basically it is my prediction that he will be a 'surprise' 'darkhorse' type recruit. I didnt really say I thought he was legit bigtime. I suppose we shall see. I have been pretty good on my predictions in the past few years so we will wait and see yet again. As for Hamilton, he still played against some great talent as most recruits out of DC do. He was still a good pickup for a Patriot League school that is usually more academic oriented.
Absolutely wonderful!!! I wont miss a game, even if it has to be watching it online way down here.

ReplyDeleteOn paper Wagner bringing in former Mr. Basketball in the state of Michigan Dwaun Anderson has to be the most talented on paper.
