Wells not returning; Parker given scholarship

JaColby Wells will graduate from Mt. St. Mary's University in the spring and will not return for a fifth season, which he is eligible for after redshirting his freshman year.

Wells played just 18 games during another injury marred season in 2011-12. He averaged a career best 2.8 points per game.

As a result, Kelvin Parker the walk-on freshman guard from York High, has been placed on scholarship. Parker had a successful freshman year with the Mount averaging 9 points, nearly 5 rebounds and a team best 1.3 steals a game. He would seem to be set to improve in Jamion Christian's promised uptempo style.

The Mount will also have incoming transfers Sam Prescott, Rashad Whack and potentially either Christian Crockett or Greg Graves angling for minutes at the 2 & 3 positions.

    Fr. - Danaher + 4 recruits

  2. All of them can get up and down the court like coach likes! This should be a great season.

  3. You know mike, we have seven new players and only six returnees, so it is going to be very different from the past season. We all are accustomed to waiting for the recent MSM teams to get 'chemistry' and 'develop' after they get whacked (haha) for the first dozen games each year, interspersed with a moral victory or two (close game with what turns out to be a team not as good as predicted).

I am looking for an entirely different picture. Yes, we have some speed and better scorers available, but the spirit and conditioning are going to get us going faster. Well, bring out the fans and let's get it on.

  4. Harry, while that is true Prescott, Whack and Danaher have been "running" with team for 1 full year already. I understand game situations are different for some players but they have been seeing each other on (and off) the court for a while which I think will aide them in the long season.
