Mount Lands Another Transfer

Coach Robert Burke and his staff have added another talented transfer to the basketball roster. Former George Mason guard Rashad Whack will join the Mount and sit out one year before becoming eligible to play. As previously reported on The Mount Fan Blog  former Marist wing Sam Prescott will also join the equation at the Mount.

The former Bishop McNamara (same high school as former Mountaineer Charles Cook) never really fit into the rotation at Mason. He played just forty minutes in the Patriots final 13 games last year. But he was heavily recruited out of high school, including an offer from the Mount at that point. Finished high school career with 1100 points, 4th all time at McNamara and set school record for three-pointers. Was rated the top shooting guard prospect in the CAA by Rivals.com out of high school and ESPN.com ranked him 59th at his position.

He's highly talented and can obviously shoot the basketball. That shoot fit very well into the system that the Robert Burke wishes to implement at the Mount. He is something for Mount fans to get excited about assuming his three years of limited activity won't have a negative effect when he becomes eligible in November of 2012.
