Burke: The Latest

Talked to a lot of folks this morning about this. Seems like it shocked and surprised a lot of people. Also seems like the team performance on the court is not the problem at the root of the eventual dismissal/resignation of Robert Burke.

I know that is brief and I know there isn't a lot of true content there, but it's about the best I can do at the moment.

Perhaps Lynne Phelan-Robinson's press conference will shed more light. Or perhaps not.

I'm going to refrain from starting a list of names I think should be considered as a replacement until after this year's team's season has been decided. I think the players deserve that respect to allow them to focus on the task at hand of making the playoffs.

  1. If I knew the reason, I would not be posting it here, I would be of the inner circle in the administration and athletic department at MSM.

So I use the blog to guess and discuss. Surely, the bad record has nothing to do with the happenings. What does that leave as probabilities?

Personal problems, family or personal illness, sudden discovery of a serious moral issue or perhaps just some other serious offense.

It is natural to want to know - but we may not get the answer.

  2. Word on the street is that Knott Arena will have a good crowd tonight. There is an energy on Campus that has been sorely lacking the past 2 years...

  3. Should have a good crowd tonight. It's a televised game and they gave away a ton of tickets to make the place look good on TV.

  4. It seemed to be a decent crowd on the 'soft' side of the court, but oh was there a plethora of seats available on the 'hard' side. Actually, I believe that side to be the hard side in many ways. A good majority of the fans who sit on the other side are of your 'pansy' variety. Ouch!!! Now, I didnt say all of them were so calm down. lol
