Defensive Coaching Staff Shakeup

Sources close to Syracuse University have told me that Greg Robinson is expected to name a new defensive coach in the next 24-72 hours. The name will be a familiar one to Syracuse fans. Donnie Webb of the Post-Standard is reporting its Dan Conley and that makes sense. I think he was the first thought for everyone when they heard the linebackers coaching position was open. My source wouldn't confirm or deny that it was Conley, and he wouldn't confirm or deny the position. However, he did say only one new hire was expected. So you can take that for what's it worth? The options, A) Conley will assume the Defensive Coordinator role, B) Greg Robinson will promote someone from the current staff to coordinator, C) Greg Robinson will resume the duties as defensive coordinator, D) my source doesn't know about another new hire.

It is speculation on my part, but I'll go with C. Seems more and more likely that Robinson will put himself back in charge of the defense and let Mitch Browning control the offense.
