WEST VIRGINIA VS OLE MISS @ JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA - SITE OF THE GATOR BOWL

Noel Devine and Jock Sanders combined for five touchdowns as West Virginia kept moving through the College Football National Championship Tournament with a 38-23 win over Ole Miss at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville. Devine ran for 220 yards on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns, while Sanders finished with 84 yards on just 9 carries. Dveine scored on runs of 7,12 and 71 yards, while Sanders scored from 12 and 55 yards out for a Mountaineer offense that featured the big play. The Mountaineers had five rushing plays of better than 20 yards and a pass play of 41 yards. West Virginia led 21-17 at half, but increased the lead to two touchdowns outscoring the Rebels 10-0 in the third quarter, with Devine's big run a big part of the quarter. Jevan Snead threw for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss.
