If We had a College Football Playoff - Sweet Sixteen Results - January 2 - Late Afternoon

Virginia Tech vs Oklahoma - Orlando, Florida - Site of the Florida Citrus Bowl

David Wilson's 4-yard touchdown run near the end of the third quarter gave the Hokies a 17-14 win over Oklahoma in Orlando. Wilson's run capped off a 14-play 69-yard drive that consumed nearly half the third quarter clock. The score gave Virginia Tech the lead back after the Sooners had taken their first lead of the game on Chris Brown's 46-yard touchdown run. Oklahoma had four possessions after the score and got into Tech territory on two occasions. Oklahoma fumbled the football at the Tech 39 with :14 left to eliminate any hope of a last second field goal to force overtime. Ryan Williams led the Hokie attack with 190 yards rushing on 32 carries. Landry Jones completed 20-of-40 passes for 239 yards but was sacked by six different Virginia Tech defenders.
