Mount starts conference season in big hole

I'm going to wait again - and it might take more than a day - to post my thoughts about the loss to St. Francis (PA) in NEC play on Saturday night. The Red Flash won 73-66 to improve to 2-0 in the conference and drop the Mount to 0-2.

It's the same type of start that the Mount had last year in the conference. St. Francis shot the ball well on the evening while the Mount again struggled from the field. The Red Flash knocked down 49% of their shots including 7-of-15 from the 3-point line. Will Felder led the Flash with 19 points, while Devin Sweetney notched 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Mount was led by Jeremy Goode and Kelly Beidler each with 17. However, the Mount shot just under 38 percent and was 4-of-20 from three-point range.

The Mount returns to action Tuesday night at Old Dominion.
