Penafiel drops close one; Goode goes for 19

The tough start in the top division continued for Penafiel on Saturday night as VSC Guimar downed Penafiel 64-63 dropping the promotees to 1-3 in the league.

Mt. St. Mary's graduate Jeremy Goode had another fine performance in defeat. Goode tallied 19 points and 3 assists. He also added to his league leading tally with 5 assists. Goode was 6-of-13 from the field and 6-of-11 from the line in the defeat. New teammate Robert Lewis, from St. Francis NY, had 21 in his season debut.

Kevin Martin (Florida Gulf Coast) had a huge night for Guimar. He led the victors with a matching pair of 19 points and rebounds. Brandon Brown (Cal State - Bernandino) had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Goode's perfomance now sees him ranked ninth in the league in scoring and in the lead in steals.
