Another easy win for the Longhorns. I didn't see as much of this game as I would have liked but Texas, unlike the Navy game, was in basic total control from the start.
A couple of things to note....The Longhorns unlike Pitt or Maryland didn't play anybody during these two games leading up to the trip to New York. However, I think they might have gotten out of it what they needed the way it worked out. Having the issues they had to end last season, they probably needed to build some confidence before what will be a very difficult contest with Illinois next week. I think the Illini were the most consistently impressive team in the first two nights of action.
From a Louisiana Tech perspective they had the look of a team that is going to lose a lot of games this year. I'm not overly sure where they are going to find wins in the WAC - and their preseason schedule isn't loitered with definites. Obviously, they'll have to get more offensively efficient then they showed against Texas but I question whether they'll be able to do that. Although obviously Texas is traditionally one of the more efficient defensive teams in the country. Truly a .500 season seems like a stretch from what I saw last night.
