I'll be honest, I slept right through this one. So I have no real personal input. But still the result surprised me a bit. I wasn't expecting the Rainbows to have that much so an 18-point win over anyone to start the season was a little surprising.
The game was tied at halftime, but Hawaii dominated the second half to give first-year head coach Gib Arthur his first win.
Great shooting (8-of-9) from Hiram Thompson led to a team-high 21 points.
So we'll watch the Rainbow Warriors closely the rest of the weekend and see how they do with Central Michigan and Fullerton State. But a good start for a team we weren't expecting a lot from.
