Kelly Beidler scored 24 points to lead IR to a 98-71 win over Valur in the opening round of the Powerade (National) Cup.
The win pushes IR into the round of 16 in this event.
Valur is a Division I team in the Icelandic professional Leagues, a step below the level of the Express League that Beidler's IR team competes in.
Teams played in the Powerade Cup instead of the League during this session.
Beidler continues to have a standout season in his first one overseas. He is averaging 22.8 points (5th in Express), 11.0 rebounds (2nd) and 1.4 blocks (6th).
