Blue Arm Bands

PAC-10 FOOTBALL OFFICIALS TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT PROSTRATE CANCER SCREENING: Pac-10 officials working the five Conference games on Nov. 7 will be wearing blue arm sleeves on one arm as part of a prostate cancer awareness campaign in partnership with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

Trying to get confirmation on why the PAC-10 officials were wearing blue armbands over the weekend.

After my post last night, numerous folks flocked to the site in search of the answer. I brought them false hope as I was only asking the question. So now I hope to find the answer.

The best information that I have is that it was to raise awareness to prostate cancer. We're waiting on confirmation from the PAC-10 if that is truly the case.

Will update when I have more.

Raffensperger worked professionally as a CPA for many years, but the chronic inflammatory immune disease Sarcoidosis made it impossible to continue that in a manner he found acceptable. Since then, he has spent more time around the Mount St. Mary's basketball program and values Coach Dan Englestad, his staff, and the players' impact on him. The blog was much more active, but the advent of Twitter (follow @themountfanblog) has made writing a little less important. But he hopes that the balance swings back in favor of more traditional content soon.
